Production & Plant Personnel

Purpose:

Operates the equipped industrial forklift to move materials in the warehouse region and to load and unload truck trailers and move product in warehouse. Operators maintain the equipment, machines, and electrical components.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Moving controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts of industry to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.
  • Organizing and securing stored materials such as boxes, pallets, and so on.
  • Loading or unloading materials manually, off or on to pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devises.
  • Reporting to Supervisor regarding any damage to faulty equipment or any other safety hazards.
  • Weighing products or materials, and recording weight and further production information on label and tags.
  • Completing forklift operator training.
  • Performing other duties as allotted by supervisor.
  • Experience with CNC Operation a plus+++

 

Job Overview:

As a CNC Machine Operator at Laminate Works, you will produce parts by pulling up specific programs and running them on one of our many computer numerical control (CNC) machines. In addition, as the primary operator of a specific machine, you will be responsible for daily cleaning and daily, weekly, and monthly routine machine maintenance.  In addition, this position will at time assume the 2nd Shift Supervisor role.  Ideal candidate would be extremely flexible and able to switch between shifts based off of operation needs.  

Essential Functions:

  • Start up and shut down of machine.
  • Load and unload parts on and off the machine.
  • Pull up specific programs and run them on the machine.
  • Select, calibrate, and secure cutting tools into machining aggregates and tool holders.
  • Precisely place raw materials onto machine and ensure material is securely held down.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform daily cleaning and machine maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Engineers, and Production personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

NOTE: This position will require at least one month of off-site paid training.

The Mechatronic Technician provides technical support for woodworking machinery and material handling equipment in Laminate Works component manufacturing plant. The Position works with Machine Operators, Machining Supervisors as well as Support Engineers of various machine vender with the focus to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical systems. The Position requires proficient knowledge in Total Productive Maintenance methodologies to ensure systems are running at peak efficiency with maximum uptime. That’s not a position to fix broken machines, the purpose for this position is to complete preventive maintenance with the goal to avoid machine breakdown. In addition, the Mechatronic Technician will work closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor team guiding the Laminate Works Kansas City operation. 

Essential Functions:

  • Actively involved in on-site installation/maintenance of electrical and mechanical automated system machines such as Beam Saws, Flat Table Routers, Contour and Straight Line Edge bander as well as any new future equipment to be implemented.
  • Maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.(this sentence should be re worded)
  • Fabrication of repair parts by using third party for instrumentation and equipment.  Will direct third party in solutions
  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and align electrical and mechanical automated system machines.
  • Clears interface of electrical and mechanical software.
  • Develops and maintains standards and tools for hardware projects.
  • Monitors automated system machine performance.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
  • Follows and manages defined systems and processes by implementing and following the standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for the Kansas City operation.  This includes making recommendations for modifications or new SOP’s as necessary.
  • Works closely with the Dallas Maintenance Mechanic to ensure consistency and process improvement in machining activities.
  • Works closely with Manufacturing Supervisors to ensure parts are produced and delivered as promised.
  • Provides timely information to Manufacturing Manager regarding machining issues as well other factors that could effect on-time deliveries.
  • May occasionally performs extended hours, weekend and holiday work in support of manufacturing service and change requests.
  • May travel to other sites for paid and specialized training and installations
  • Works independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ensures that Maintenance Department work areas are clean and free of debris and clutter and properly organized.
  • Follows, communicates and reinforces LW values, policies and procedures while working with Supervisors and Manufacturing Personnel 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Trains operators to increase system knowledge, resolve issues and prevent issues from recurring.
  • Control downtime by informing Manufacturing Supervisors (Manager)of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Updates system manuals and PM schedules and Root Cause Analysis
  • Attends and participates in manufacturing meetings.
  • Follows the safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd and occasional 3rd shift if required to repair equipment

Educational Requirements:

  • 2 year degree in Electronic or Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of equipment maintenance experience preferably with automation.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles, motors, drivers, belts and bearings.

Job Overview:

The Truck Driver will operate company owned and leased trucking equipment including tractors, trailers, and straight trucks, maintained by the Kansas City manufacturing operation.  This position has a key role in establishing delivery consistency, customer relations, and compliance with DOT regulations.  In addition, the Truck Driver will maintain a team mindset and make a positive contribution to the Laminate Works Kansas City operation.

Essential Functions:

  • Safely operate tractor and curtain side flatbed trailers with the capacity up to 80,000 pounds GVW.
  • Responsible for proper load securement of materials on delivery vehicle.
  • Perform daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections as required by Local, State and Federal regulations.
  • Understand and follow the related standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for the Kansas City operation.  This includes making recommendations for modifications or new SOP’s as necessary.
  • Drive truck to customer and vendor destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads.
  • Maintain truck log and driver’s log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs.
  • Work closely with the Kansas City Shipping Supervisor to ensure consistency and process improvement in loading, unloading, and delivery activities.
  • Execute daily delivery schedule and notify any potential late deliveries proactively.
  • Responsible for ongoing proactive maintenance of trucks and trailers, and other shipping equipment.
  • Responsible for accuracy of any related documentation requested by supervisor.
  • Ensure that the truck and trailer interior and exterior are clean and free of debris and clutter and properly organized.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Communicate and reinforce LW values, policies and procedures.
  • Follow the safety program and policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Accountable for reducing fuel and other related costs resulting from poor navigation or delivery plans.
